The project «Phenomena of Arctic Nature»
An international project a part of the Kolarctic CBC (Cross Border Cooperation) program started in Salla (Finland) on the 10th of April. The Pasvik Nature Reserve is Russian partner in this project. The main aim of the project is the development of nature tourism and ecological education among the population of three countries (Russia, Finland and Norway) by creating new nature trails, tours, exhibitions, quests, education materials etc. The leading partner in this project is Finland (Metsahallitus Wild Nature Center).
The Pasvik Nature Reserve is planning to create a permanent exhibition, to make a package ecological education materials, for the visitors of all ages and to build a parking lot and garage for the convenience of its guests in the Nature Reserve visit-center in Nikel.
The main direction and area of work were identified and work groups appointed in kick-off meeting. The project will last for 3 years.
