On March 21, 2019, the kick- off meeting of the “CROSS-BORDER COOPERATION AND MULTI-USE PLANNING IN THE PASVIK AND GRENSE JAKOBSELV (Russian name - Voriema) CATCHMENTS” by the Kolarctic program took place.

The project outcome will be a new multi-use plan document for the cross-border river basins of Pasvik and Voriema completed and published by the end of 2020, including joint recommendations and a programme of measures for the period 2021-2030, aimed at maintaining the state of the environment..

At the kick- off meeting, together with the Norwegian and Finnish colleagues, problematic issues and factors influencing the catchment area of the Pasvik and Voryema rivers were discussed, and common goals, tasks and a timetable for further work were also identified.
